Sister André, the world’s oldest known person at 118 years old, has passed away. Her real name is Lucile Randon died peacefully in her sleep in Toulon, France. According to Guinness World Records, she was recognized as the oldest living person in the world in April 2022 after the death of 119-year-old Kane Tanaka of Japan. She held records for “oldest nun living” and “oldest COVID-19 survivor” and was just three years away from earning the history of the oldest person ever, owned by France’s Jeanne Louise Calment at 122. she had been an honorary citizen of Toulon for four years and had lived in the Sainte-Catherine Laboure nursing home since 2009.
